By Bus and Tram

Lothian Bus routes 1, 2, 10, 11, 15, 16, 23, 24, 27, 34, 35, 45 all serve the area of Tollcross on a regular basis.

By Train

Tollcross Central Hall is a fifteen-minute walk from Haymarket Station, and a twenty-five minute walk from Waverley Station.

By Bike 

Tollcross Central Hall is located just off the National Cycle Network route 75. There are several bike parking locations nearby:

  • Opposite the entrance to Tollcross Fire Station
  • Outside the entrance to Tesco Express on Early Grey Street
  • Outside the entrance to Co-op on Earl Grey Street
  • Next to The Bike Station on Lauriston Place 
  • At the car park entrance to Leven Medical Practice on Ponton Street

By Car

Venue Accessibility

Physical Access to Tollcross Central Hall

Tollcross Central Hall does not have a designated drop off point for cars. There is a loading bay at the front of the building, by the main entrance. 

At the side entrance on Dunbar Street, there is no designated drop off point, but as it is a dead end road it is quieter for the accessibility entrance.

Tollcross Central Hall is not step free or level access but there is a lift at the side entrance on Dunbar Street, which provides access to all the public areas of the building being used for EIFF events. 

Physical Access in Tollcross Central Hall

There is a lift and stairs that connect Level 1 to Levels 2 and 3. 

There are six wheelchair spaces in the main auditorium at Tollcross Central Hall. Four wheelchair spaces are located on Level 2 and two wheelchair spaces are located on Level 3.

There is step-free access to the wheelchair and companion seats. 

Seats are not numbered as the lower level is a free space and the chairs are not permanently fixed to the ground.

On Level 2 chair dimensions are 58cm wide and 42.5cm deep with a seat height of 46cm. 

Audio

Hearing loops and induction loops are available. 

Toilets

Level 2 and 3 each have one accessible toilet with support rails. You do not require a key. 

The accessible toilet on Level 2 is a wheelchair accessible and changing place toilet. It is located on the left as you come out of the main auditorium.

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome. 

The Meadows is very close by for the exercise of assistance dogs.
