Travel Update: Due to an ongoing incident and road closure on Princes Street, Edinburgh Trams are currently operating a reduced service between Edinburgh Airport and West End only. If you’re travelling by tram, please plan your journey in advance using the Lothian Buses & Edinburgh Trams app and allow extra time to reach your screening or event.
Filmhouse is a fifteen-minute walk from Haymarket Station, and twenty-minute walk from Waverley Station.

Whilst not affiliated with the Filmhouse, there is a designated drop-off point 15 metres up Lothian Road, on the same side as the venue entrance.

Due to the city centre location there is very limited on-street parking with time restrictions.

Access to Filmhouse is step free, with a long shallow ramp from the south to north door.
The main entrance and Box Office are located on the ground floor, accessible via a ramped, electronically assisted entrance door from Lothian Road.
There is step free access to wheelchair spaces and companion seats in Screens 1, 2, 3 and 4.
All seats have armrests, 580mm between armrests, and are joined together.
If you intend to transfer from a wheelchair into a cinema seat, please let the Access Booking Service know when booking so that we can find a seat that best matches your requirements.
Screen 1
Located on the First Floor which can be accessed via a passenger lift.
Two dedicated wheelchair spaces. There are two aisles and access is level from the passenger lift at the front of the screen.
Screens 2, 3 and 4 are half a level down from the Ground Floor, accessible via a platform lift which is located on the ground floor.
Screen 2
Has been upgraded to level access and no longer requires a second platform lift to access.
One dedicated wheelchair space. There is one aisle and access is level from the rear right of the screen.
Screen 3
One dedicated wheelchair space. There is one aisle and access is slightly sloped from the rear left of the screen.
Hearing Induction and Visual Impairment systems are available in all screens using either a neck loop or two-channel infrared stethoset.
Screen 1 also has a single channel Hearing Induction room loop which does not require infra-red sets. You can connect by switching to the ‘T-coil’ on any row.
There are two accessible toilets, suitable for use with wheelchairs and for changing.
The first is located next to the Box Office on the Ground Floor with level access between the main entrance doors and the passenger lift.
The second is located in the corridor leading to Screens 2 and 3, accessible via the stairs or a platform lift. No keys are required to use these toilets.
The closest changing places toilet is located at Johnnie Walker, a 6 minute walk away on Princes Street.
Assistance dogs are welcome in this venue.
The Meadows is a ten-minute walk away for the exercise of assistance dogs.
