Boisterous tearaway Frankie, struggling to come to terms with the inevitability of losing best friend Taylor, impulsively breaks him out of hospice care for one final night of fun and debauchery. But what promises to be a night of hedonism quickly becomes something more complicated for the pair. Beautifully observed and performed by a talented young cast, this witty and wise debut from co-directors Ollie Gardner and Jake Harvey explores male friendship in extreme circumstances, as well as grief and acceptance in a uniquely fresh and humane film full of vigour, life and optimism despite its heartbreaking and moving premise. – Paul Ridd
